Keeping in line with the spirit of Interrail, train travel in Poland can be quite an adventure! You can just hop on and off most of the local and regional trains.

But to give you piece of mind, we recommend that you make sure you understand everything there is to know about seat reservations and supplements on trains in Poland before you travel. 


Reservations are required for:

We would recommend reservations, if you are intending to use any of the following trains in Poland:

  • Ekspres (Ex): Reservations are compulsory on these express trains.

  • EuroCity (EC): Reservations on domestic routes of these International high standard trains are compulsory.

  • Ekspres InterCity (EIC, EkspresIC): Reservations are required on these domestic high standard trains.

  • Tanie Linie Kolejowe (TLK): 1st class passengers for these fast trains will need to make a reservation.

Reservations are not required for:

The following trains in Poland do not need you to make a reservation:

  • Tanie Linie Kolejowe (TLK):  2nd class passengers for these trains do not need to make a reservation.
