Trains in Portugal are operated by Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses (CP), the Portuguese National Railways.

Note: There is no longer a train connection between Beja and Funcheira in Portugal.

High-speed trains: 

On the high-speed (rápido) trains,1st class is called Conforto and 2nd class is called Turística. Local and suburban trains do not have class distinction


International train connections:

There are various international connections from Portugal, but the most popular are:

Lusitânia Hotel Train: This train connects Lisbon, the capital of Portugal to Madrid, the capital city of Spain. 

TGV Trains: These trains provide connections to Paris, the capital city of France.

You will able to take your bike on most trains once you have bought a special bike ticket. Before boarding a train, ask the ticket inspector if space is available for your bike
